Melon Slices and White Roses - Original Oil Painting

Once in a while I plan my still life around a specific colour scheme, which was the case here. I wanted to play with this blue green theme and added the white roses as a means to rest the eye, give a break from all the colour otherwise. I thoroughly enjoyed setting it up and painting it, take a look at the close ups to see the thick impasto brushwork.
