Painting of Roses - Pink roses in the evening sun
I love painting roses, the fresh ones of course but more importantly the dried and wilting ones. They have so much character and I find them a lot more interesting than fresh flowers. Even better, they hold their shape so well and I can paint them at a leisurely pace.
This painting was done on an evening when the golden light was hitting my window sill. I wouldn't miss painting that light for anything.
Oil on wood, 9 by 12 inches.
